I think this is one of the few really good podcasts I’ve ever heard. The Moth is a non-prof, traveling, live storytelling organization. I guess that description pretty much explains it. It’s kind of like a literary performance venue that moves around to New York, Chicago, Detroit etc. and features very famous to vaguely famous people who share their story with live audience. If you are a person that likes listening to good stories this is for you. I have yet to hear one that I wasn’t captured by. Enjoy

While at Birch Lodge eating free tacos and watching a bit of the Lions game on Sunday, Jake, Celia, Tyler, Lindsay, and I noticed the Jason Schwartzman AT&T commercial. We asked why Jason Schwartzman is doing AT&T commercials, Celia mentioned that he looks like he’s put on a few pounds, I mentioned that he looks like he’s put on a few years, Jake mentioned that it’s a good thing because he’s not a Hollywood fake, and we all agreed that when you look older and fatter, your career must be reduced to doing AT&T commercials.

It’s Luke Wilson.

"That’s what religion is K-Fed, just a bunch of made up rules that manipulate people. Enjoy.

“The Tortoise, The Rabbit, The Toad”

The Tortoise, the Rabbit, the Toad
walked and hopped down the road.
The Rabbit was first,
The Tortoise was last.
In the middle was the silly old Toad.

I asked as I passed, “Toad, why do you stay
in the middle and no other place?”
The answer he gave me, so smart and so wise
brought an elephant-sized smile to my face.

He said, “Dear boy, if a coyote should come
to eat up the three that you see,
he will come from the front, or he’ll come from the back,
and neither place he shall see me.”

And so he hopped on, sandwiched, so safely,
between the too fast and too slow.
I thought, as I walked, again down the road,
“Toad is the smartest I know.”

I moved on to my email to inquire about individual professors possibly cancelling: again, nothing. Being a bit annoyed, I sucked it up, took a shower, bundled up, brushed off my car, drove, parked, waited for the bus, rode the bus, got to ASH for my Psych class, checked my email and behold: two emails, two cancelled classes.

Now, here I sit, waiting for a class that isn’t until 2:30, unable to go home, wondering if I’ll have my 6-9.

On the bright side, I got an A- on my last Capstone paper. Looks like I might get an A in my ENG Capstone. I like that.

Christmas.

It is a bad sign when you identify with Charlie Brown’s Christmas feelings on an intimate level?

I just like Bill Murray a lot.

I just like Bill Murray a lot.

"Us in Ireland"

Us in Ireland,
sipping the heads off of beer,
and you, posing ballet in front of castles
and pastures of sheep.

i would not say “write.” writing something makes it more permanent, and if you’re trying hard to put something behind you I would not suggest making it permanent. who knows, maybe you become happy again and then you find that piece of writing later and it just reminds you of all the things you don’t want to think about. basically what I am saying: if you are going through something unpleasant do your best to not think about it. maybe ignoring it will make it go away. this usually works if you try it.

My dad bought these Avett Brothers albums for me over break....

My dad bought these Avett Brothers albums for me over break.
